Well, its pretty clear, assuming one does read.
Such is true. That is the exact reason I usually wait for one or two dot realseases before I jump in.
Yeah, that was a bit surprising…to get a permanent DHCP lease I therefore had to do it “the old fashioned way” and see which MAC had been generated on my DHCP leases in the router’s GUI, before then creating a MAC/IPV4 pair.
Which is a bit „Home Router“ style. (Without OpenWRT-option, that is.)
Not so sure. Kris on reddit tends to encourage community users to upgrade and have fun experimenting, I really don’t get it. I think it’s a shame myself.
I’ve been updating to RC without issue since Bluefin. This time I decided to wait for release, but it’s no better? Reading the VM woes I think I’ll sit this one out for quite some time, there’s a fine line between brave and idiotic!
You can get lucky or not lucky. Remember the release where the zfs changes (dynamic arc, virtual memory) for some would repeatedly crash the system that wasn’t resolved until .2? They were not happy to have done the .0 release! But every system is different and you are rolling the dice if you go early. Which is fine for more techie types who can pivot, but not so great for people who can’t spell Linux.
My strategy is to always wait for .2. While I could likely fix things, I simply have better things to do. Like travel, sitting in Darwin AU right now!
The more usersbeta testers, the more issues are found…
Also had the issue where my ZVOLS are in a different pool.
I can locate the ZVOL in the UI when I create the VM, but it keeps on giving me an error stating that it’s not in the same storage pool.
Also when selecting the pool in when first opening the ‘Instances’ tab in the UI, I can only see one of my pools, unfortunately the pool without the ZVOL.
Does your other pool have a space in the name by chance? There is an upstream incus bug where it does not see pools with spaces in the name
Yuuup, that it does!
Just tried to see if there was a way to “move” a ZVOL (for lack of better words) and found a thread. Also one on “renaming” a pool (export and import under a new name).
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
Renaming the pool should work (see the comments): Jira.
