That little mention about possibly being able to import a qcow2 file from the UI is really exciting! The first thing I thought of was installing Home Assistant OS. The current installation process isn’t terrible. Still, if we could eliminate using the shell, I think that would remove 99% of the issues people encounter when installing HAOS in a TrueNAS VM.

That is exactly the use-case that originally prompted me to add this functionality to the API backend. Its not super hard to convert / import a VM disk image to a zvol, but ideally it all just happens automatically in the UI at some point.
