Force copy speed slower over network

Hi, when I try to copy from my windows machine onto the NAS, anything I do that uses a network connection gets super funny. is there a way to throttle the network speeds so the rest of the network can function?

How are you copying? What is your network? The network, usually, isn’t a problem unless you are saturating it. It is unclear if your entire network and other computers are affected or just TrueNAS.

If you are copying large amounts of data from Windows to TrueNAS, using Robocopy, you can set ‘pauses’. You can also check if your network switch has ‘QoS’, Quality of Service, features to apply.

In short, we would need more details on your setup and what is going on.

1gig switches, completely unmanaged, as I am here to work on stuff on the computers, not on the computers. less crap to think about
