How to enable recycle bin on Trunes scale 15 version

Hello,

I am looking for “export recycle” option under SMB, but I don’t find it. This option still exist on 15 version? Or how can I enable recycle bin?

Let me ask you please.

  1. If I delete the files, then all of them are supposed to be removed from the disk completely?
  2. The snapshos and shadow copy function would be the same function as recycle bin?
  3. May I know where I can enable “snapshot and shadow cop” function on Truenas?

  2. Not exactly the same. In easy terms a snapshot takes a picture of your data at a given time and if the data gets corrupted or deleted by accident you can restore the data from a snapshot
  3. Snapshots are a feature in Truenas, shadow copy is a Windows thing

Yes, Snapshots in Truenas are afaik automatically exposed as Shadow Copies (VSS). Windows Clients should find them under Properties → Previous Versions as expected.
