How to prevent the shared folder from being deleted at truenas scale

I want to create a truenas server, but I’m having problems. I want the main folder in the share folder to not be deleted. can someone tell me how to do it or what should i do

You should setup your Acl according to your needs

hallo mr @oxyde
I have setup ACL. but the settings I made don’t work (not what I want). I want to make users unable to delete folders and every user in the IT group can enter every shared folder. can you give me suggestions to solve this problem?

…then make IT read-write and users read-only.

I use this at home. I don’t have much experience with ACL.

You want users not to be able to delete their own folders but be able to create them. That I know you either have write options or not. There is not such thing as you wish there was.
You could use something like Syncthing and it has settings to keep deleted files and folders. But is a copy elsewhere. Not the same folder.

I hope this idea helps.

Good luck

apakah yang anda maksud saya dapat mengatasi masalah itu dengan membuat sebuah tugas snapshot?

my GUI is kinda different (i use Core), but don’t think that the settings involved change.

They are the owner of the specific dataset? If yes, go in advanced mode, select owner, on permission the delete/delete-children property and put DENY; should do the job.

This should be the Traverse permission (if i remember well)

Won’t that stop file deletions as well?

mmm you are totally right. I think should be setting the advanced flag to for inherit on the right “object”. But seems a bit tricky, maybe im wrong… let’s wait someone else opinion.

please, post in english!
The google translate this time have “no sense” and i can’t understand what you mean

I don’t think I can be of assistance to this person other than post this automated translation, that I can’t vouch for:

DeepL detects Indonesian and proposes something meaningful :wink;
@bif_dummy may try the International section, but it would probably be more useful to keep the thread in English.

sorry, i will make it in english.
here i use truenas scale, previously i used truenas core. the setting is not a problem, according to what i want. but i do the same setting in truenas scale the setting is not the same as in truenas core.
