How to snapshot and replicate /mnt/.ix-apps?

I thought I read that the 24.10 release version would have a way to backup (snapshot, replication) the docker configuration (/mnt/.ix-apps)?

You cannot configure snapshots or replication on it as the GUI does not give you any choices for any dataset on the boot-pool.

Easy to be done with a script, but you would think it should be a priority to offer such feature.

Edit:
The proper way to do it would be for the system to stop (pause?) all Docker containers, take the snapshot quickly, restart the containers and then replicate from the snapshot.

How did you learn that this is the proper way to do it? I cannot find anything.
