If you had a prior release installed before nightlies of 24.04 you should rollback to that boot environment & then upgrade.

I started with 24.10-BETA.1, so it should be possible to boot to that environment, but would it break something in my current configuration? I don’t have anything fancy set up—a couple of SMB shares, periodic snapshot tasks, scrub tasks, a Win10 VM, a few Docker apps, and 2FA for users.

Just rebooted to 24.10-BETA.1, but got a strange outcome. After reboot: Lets Encrypt cert was missing, Couldn’t log in using my current credentials, but was able to log in using old ones (default user/password), Apps were missing, Dashboard configuration was back to default. Rebooted back to lat…

Thats expected, previous boot environment retains all the data prior to the upgrade.

So, what should be the best approach to migrating from a nightly train to a stable one keeping my current settings? One cannot upload a config file from a nightly to a previous version (e.g. BETA).

It really isn’t possible. You either stay on 24.10 nightly and wait for 25.04.0 release and upgrade to that or take the hit and use old settings from a previous boot environment.

With nightlies you have to install fresh, you can’t jump to release.
