Install and upgrade question Electric Eel

First experiance with TrueNAS Scale.

I would like to go ahead and install 24.10 (Electric Eel), since 24.10-RC.1 is due out in 3 days.
Should I just wait 3 days, or is it easy to upgrade a 24.10 nightly I install now to the 24.10-RC.1?

If you are less experienced and don’t have spare time, waiting for RC.1 is better.

If its a new machine and you want to learn truenas, then its best to start with BETA and then update to RC.1

Nightlies are for developers/testers and have their own set of restrictions.

I was able to install the TrueNAS-SCALE-24.10.0-MASTER-20240927-035851.iso Nightly version on the 29th to get some familiarity with the install process and preliminary configuration. It seems Supermicro’s IPMI/BMC works on the other ethernet ports of the motherboard and not just the dedicated IPMI one. So after figuring out that frequent disconnects to the truenas Ui were apparently due to my using an IP Address Target (https://192.168.88.101/ui/) in my browser as opposed to a local domain name (https://truenas/ui/), I have been good. The only thing (so far) that I can’t seem to get to work is a Short Smart Test on my NVMe drive. The buttons and actions seem to work, however the status window never resolves. The short tests seem to work ok for my other drives, but I don’t know what the “Lifetime” column data is indicating and there doesn’t appear to be any date (Run/Completed) entry so hard to tell if these result entries are from tests initiated from Truenas or if this data is/was from the hard drives themselves (not necessarily initiated from Truenas).
