Installation Error when installing SCALE on a Machine that previously had CORE running

Hi All, I have no Linux or FreeBSD Experience, but I was using TrueNAS Core for the last few years successfully and now wanted to try TrueNAS Scale.
I wanted to start from scratch so I deleted the Data zfs pool I had in Core, but I couldn’t delete the boot pool which consists or 2 x 250Gb SSD Drives.
I’ve booted the latest TrueNAS Scale ISO and gone through the installation steps until I select the 2 SSD Drives as the destination media, I say “Yes” to the warning about erasing all partitions and data, select “Administrative user” for “Web UI Authentication Method”, Enter a new password, say “no” to “Allow EFI boot”, then I get this error “Installation Error, Command sgdisk -a4096 -n1:0:+1024K -t1:EF02 -A1:set:2 /dev/sda failed: Warning! Read error 5; strange behaviour now likely!, Warning! Read error 5; strange behaviour now likely!, Unable to save backup partition table! Perhaps the ‘e’ option on the experts’ menu will resolve this problem.”
I can’t get past this, I can’t find the “e” option or the experts menu and googling it and searching this forum doesn’t show me where this is either.
Please can somebody help, I’m sure it’s something simple I’m missing.

Try booting with usb Ubuntu desktop and use the gdisk utility wipe and delete the partition tables on your target disks.

Thanks @MikeO3 for such a quick reply, I tried something similar using a puppy Linux iso and gparted, but when I select either of the SSD Drives, there were no options available in the menu in gparted. I just tried gdisk too and I get this error when trying to make any changes "Unable to save backup partition table! Perhaps the ‘e’ option on the experts’
menu will resolve this problem.
Warning! An error was reported when writing the partition table! This error
MIGHT be harmless, or the disk might be damaged! Checking it is advisable.
"
If I use the v option to verify the disk, I get “No problems found”

Are you able to suggest anything else I can try?
Thanks in advance
Scott
