Jails in FreeNas 13.1

Does anyone know what happened to Jails in TrusNas 24.04?

Title says FreeNas 13.1 and post asks about Jails in TrueNAS 24.04 (Dragonfish)

What are you asking about? It’s not clear.

I had Jails configured in FreeNas 13.1 but I dont see them in TrueNas 24.4. Do you know where they are?

The feature should be returning in the upcoming TrueNAS Fangtooth, 25.04. Currently in BETA and, soon Release Candidate, hopefully.

FreeNAS and TrueNAS Core were FreeBSD based and TrueNAS Scale is Linux based. Some features weren’t the same between them but are now catching up.

You can upgrade your TrueNAS Core to the latest version and then manually update to 13.3 to be able to use FreeBSD based Jails for a little while longer if you want.

TrueNAS Fangtooth 25.04 is supposed to be a direct upgrade route from one of the latest TrueNAS Core versions but you may want to wait a little bit until it is out and go through Release notes and such.

There’s no way to “convert” or “import” any FreeBSD jails from Core into SCALE Fangtooth.

You’ll have to create them from scratch with the new Incus / LXD method.
