I have a old TrueNAS setup that was not used in a long while. It was up and running using a static IP address. I had Plex plugin installed and working. I recently moved to a new location and powered it up and went through the process of re-configuring the Ethernet adapter. I could assign a static IP address and access the web UI. I am however unable to manage the Plex plugin as I get a connection error. When I check the Jails also, I see that the IPV4 has a error which tells me that there is a networ issue. Can you please guide on what could have gone wrong.
Hello @Captain_Morgan This is the output of ifconfig -a. I am sorry, I am not a expert, please let me know if the information you are requesting can be retrieved in some other way. Thank you.
This is likely a networking problem and requires IP skills to resolve. You need an IP plan and then to check that it is working as expected.
Unfortunately, the configuration you have with Plex as a plugin on 13.0 is not recommended. I’d recommend upgrading to SCALE 24.10 and setting up the Plex app there using the same data and IP. The Plex app will use the same static IP as the TrueNAS.
I tried update via the web UI, there is no internet connection as it doesn’t even pick up the current train. Isn’t that the fundamental problem? Can I may be reset network configuration completely removing the interface and adding again…
Check your current networking screens. Do you have information for DNS, etc.
You can try configuring your network again. Don’t forget to test and confirm changes. You may not be picking up DNS, etc if you set up a static IP
I was able to follow the instructions in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f-UBjx73xk and make somewhat of a progress. My Emby plugin is working but not Plex as it is missing the admin portal link (no manage option).
Unfortunately, I cannot connect to TrueNAS updates yet. I get the message: “Unable to connect to url https://update-master.ixsystems.com/TrueNAS/trains.txt: Automatic update check failed. Please check system network settings.”
