I’ve been running Truenas since Freenas 8 something, never really had any real issues beyond the occasional disk that needed to be replaced and other minor stuff. Needless to say I never went down the Corral rabbit-hole…… I’ve been slightly annoyed with the “Legacy Encryption” on my main vdev for the past 4 years.
This feels like an eternity ago:

I’ve tested Truenas scale on and off (mostly off) for the better part of the last year, but everyone knows that the real test is when you deploy to production.
I decided to go for a complete reinstall, thus I recreated a Raidz3 vdev with crisp non-legacy passphrase encryption, a ssd mirror for apps, replaced 11 jails with apps, set up cloud sync, scrub tasks, snapshot tasks, smart tests, smb shares, been running for 14 days and…….
Not a single issue, nothing, nada, null.
I thought that a big thank you to you all and ixSystems is warranted!
