Long SMART test failed "unsupported"?

I just got a bunch of HGST 4TB drives “HUS72604CLAR4000”
I slapped them in my Supermicro JBOD to test them out first thing i did was try to to a Long SMART test but i got the error
“Long (extended) offline self test failed [unsupported field in scsi command]”
the Short test passed fine…
My TrueNAS is all running on bare metal
all the other Seagate HDD runing and Pass the long smart test fine.

i put them in my Hot swap bay in my linux computer and i got the same error in the command line.?

TrueNAS Community ver 25.04.2
LSI SAS9207-8e in IT mode

I hope you have a better luck with those “Cheap” HGST drives that I did. I bought 4 of the 4TB ones and put them in use. 2 of them died after about a month. Never again…

Well that stinks i was hearing good things…

i did have problems with some of the Seagate drives but sofar they been going for 3 years with only 2 failed.
to test them I made a raidz2 5x2 with them and i have a program making 10gb files to fill the drive then i was going to run a scrub
