I have a love-hate relationship with this because on one hand, it made hardware purchases so expensive, but on the other hand, my stocks are making a killing.
How much longer though. I expect the AI bubble to start deflating as the cost of tokens has to be raised to start covering extant investment costs.
A lot of capacity is coming online as well. Combine that with less expensive but good enough compute emerging in China and I wonder where the explosion of demand is supposed to come from, other than three letter agencies?
Saying Winnie is just pure sarcasm doesn’t do him justice. I honestly take my hat off whenever I read his posts, when someone is in bad trouble with TN or ZFS…
Though thankfully, catastrophic data loss isn’t a daily thing… so we mostly just get the monster side ahahahah

That’s arguably one of the best file-server oriented motherboards held inside likely the best 11-drive tower ever made. Thank you ixsystems for the former and eBay for the latter.
