QNAP with 2x 2TB mirrored needs to have its volume size increased. I want to replace the 2x 2TB disks with 2x 4TB disks.
- How do I proceed with the disk installation?
Assumption: replace one disk after another only after the first exchanged disk is fully reintegrated in the mirror?
- After installation how to get the volumes changed to effectively use 2x 4TB?
From reading this post ( links forbidden ) I understand that the volume will increase automatically once the second 4TB disk is installed?
Can you only attach the two disks at a time or is there a spare disk port?
Only the two ports, replacing one at a time and allowing resilver.
Spare port, you can do an in place, replacement by attaching the third disk and choosing to replace one of the mirrors. Then repeat the process with another new disk.
If you don’t see your increase in the mirror VDEV when finished replacing smaller disks, choose it and then choose the Expand option
