Here is my situation - I had old TrueNas 13. I have migrated to 25.10.2.1. My user is member of wheel group.
I just have installed a new drive, created a new pool and moved all the data to that pool.
I want to remove my old pool and old drives - and in order to do that I need to change my user home folder.
However if I try to edit it - it shows error that users who is in wheels Auxilitary group could not be modified.
I tried to remove myself from this group:
-
through Users UI it says that user of wheel group could not be modified (Actually Auxilitary group edit box is empty at all, even though in view mode it shows Wheel)
-
through Groups UI - it tried to re-add ROOT user for some reason- and fails at that operation
-
If I remove even root user from wheels group - it complains that wheel groups is created for user root - so root could not be removed
-
if I tried deluser gorbush wheel
deluser: The usergorbush' is not a member of groupwheel’ -
I also tried usermod - see the same error about Unable to open config database
So how do I change the home folder?
