No GPU option in apps

I’m sure I had JellyFin setup to use my GPU, but I’m installing Ollama and can’t see the option to assign a GPU there. Checked in JellyFin config and option is not there either. I just recently updated to 24 from 23 (lost my TrueCharts installed apps in the process).

I’ve read some posts that say use nvidia-smi to check the GPU, but running nvidia-smi from the shell gets command not found response.

In system > advanced settings, my RTX3050 is listed under the isolate GPU option (but not selected). So I think TrueNAS knows its there.

Anything else I can try?

Sorry, are you on 24.04 (Dragonfish) or the recently-released 24.10 (Electric Eel)?

They have different app systems and ways of installing nvidia drivers.

I’m using the latest, 24.10.0.2. Looking at my saved configuration filenames, I updated from 23.10.2 to 24.04.0, then to 24.04.2.3, then 24.10.0.2

OK, so I found the check box in Apps > Configuration > Settings to install Nvidia drivers. In each apps settings I now see the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050, Use this GPU option. But updating the App fails. The last line of the error being:

“base_v2_0_15.error.RenderError: Expected [uuid] to be set for GPU in slot [0000:10:00.0] in [nvidia_gpu_selection]”

Fixed it by following the advice here docker-apps-and-uuid-issue-with-nvidia-gpu-after-upgrade-to-24-10
