Node_exporter as docker container

Hi,

because of the lack of an app / reporter for prometheus i have just configured a dataset for app, enabled/configured the app service and deployed the official node_exporter container via shell https:[//]hub[.]docker[.]com/r/prom/node-exporter

before i did this, i have searched here and found workaround with graphite, telegraph and so on, but no native node_exporter solution.

this works, for now, flawlessly.
do you guys see a problem with this solution via docker alongside/past the truenas app service?

Why do it like that instead of the better supported (and tested) custom app-method?
You can either set it up using the wizard or by using a yaml.

uu, this i missed. i think because the custom app and yaml menu is hidden and is only shown after “discover apps”. thx for the hint

I wasn’t sure if you were deliberatly avoiding it or not, but yeah, it can be difficult to know it’s hiding there unless you know where to look.

…which is why I often link to the official documentation.
