Hi all,
I have a Truenas server that synchs daily to dropbox but I keep running into issues where the cloudsynch is failing due to illegal characters.
Those illegal characters are ~$ which are the characters that start all MS Office temporary files.
So whats happening is sometimes my windows backup to truenas has documents open at the time so it also copies the office temp files, or if for any reason the computer has crashed with an office document open it tends to leave those office temp files in the folders unlss the originating file is opened again.
Currently I have to go into the data on the NAS and manually delete those files with shell to fix the issue. I usually have to delete the equivelent files on dropbox as it seems to not be able to delete them on the cloud??
Is there a way of settng cloudsynch to not copy any files starting with those characters? Unfortunately those characters seem to be particularly problematic as I’ve struggled to setup wildcard searches etc as I assume it thinks they are switches or something?
Anyway, any suggestions very much appreciated as this is a pain.
Thanks,
Mike
