Plex server unavailable

My drive on which plex was running got full and so I couldn’t play any media files anymore.
Now that I’ve deleted some data (which wasn’t connected to the server in any way), and cleared up some space that way, my server isn’t available anymore through the “jail address”:32400 which gives me “server name” is currently unavailable but in the windows application it says Not authorized whenever I open the pinned libraries.
My plex server runs on TrueNas Core TrueNAS-13.0-U6.1 in a 13.0-RELEASE-p13 jail.
It’s running as a plugin.
I’ve found the folder with Preferences.xml file and all of the metadata and from the server in the jail directory.
Does anybody here know if it’s possible to get the server back or if I have to Create a new one, and if so if and how I can use the root@jail:/Plex Media Server directory as a backup?

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Reboot TrueNas
  • Reboot Jail
  • Reset Preferences.xml after shuting down plex

Hello. Welcome.

If you go down the “create new plugin” route you will have more problems/issues to deal with right now. So, before you do anything else: Do you have a snapshot of the plex jail/plugin you can roll-back to?

And then, you install plex in a manual jail using either this or this.

I do have a snapshot of the dataset from a month ago from when I updated the jail ioc_update_13.0-RELEASE-p13_2024-09-13_21-08-01

Perfect! Roll that snapshot back and see if your issues are resolved.
*fingers-crossed*

I see there are 3 different snapshots

The first one has Pool/iocage/jails/PLEX as location, and the other two have Pool/iocage/jails/PLEX/root as location.

Any idea which would be the one to use?

No, sorry, not really. I’d hazard a guess as to the first one, but you have to make that decision.

Got it working again, thank you John

Congratulations.
Happy to help.
