Pool degraded for no obvious reason

Recently I got a critical alert in my TrueNAS dashboard about my Apps pool being degraded. When I go to storage, it shows as “Degraded, no errors.”

The pool consists of a single SSD as all important data is backed up to another drive. I cannot find any information on why the pool is actually degraded anywhere in the dashboard…. zpool status returns the following. It says “too many erorrs” and “No errors” at the same time…

Is there anything else I can check to find out what the problem is? Is it safe to just clear the error of the zpool and see if it repeats?

No DATA errors, but too many DRIVE errors. It actually makes some sense, and you’re not the first to have issues with a Crucial MX500 SSD.

You may clear and wait… but prepare to replace (or mirror) the drive, just in case.

Now that I think about it, the alert may have popped up when I was replacing another failed disk. As I see SMART reports 2 SATA link downgrades and UDMA CRC errors I think they could be because I bumped the SATA cable of the disk when I was replacing the other one….

I’ll clear the zpool status as you recommended and see if the erorr repeats or not. Thanks!
