Pool Status: Unhealthy

Hello, I just noticed that the Pool Status of my NAS is unhealthy, telling me one of the four disks has errors.

The Disk in question shows:

Checksum Errors: 2

The output of smartctl is attached below.

I am not well versed in interpreting said output, therefore I’d highly appreciate it, if someone could offer further assistance in the matter and tell me, if the hard drive needs to be replaced, which would be rather sad, since it is the newest disk in the array.

root@freenas[~]# smartctl -a /dev/sdd

Since you have Raid-Z2 and only two CKSUM errors, I would just try working through the flowchart. I didn’t see anything in your Short SMART test that was concerning.

I agree with @SmallBarky and this looks more like a system stability issue than a drive issue. the flowcharts will help you clear the error and test.

What can cause this kind of issue? A power drop, the magical reboot, a software crash.

When was the last time you ran MemTest86+? Hint Hint. Parts do fail and re have seen a few RAM failures recently. Hopefully you can account for the issue to a power drop, the best answer, and you need a new UPS.
