Pool degraded on every Hdd >4tb

Hi,

Mi truenas with motherboard GA F2A88XM-DS2 and 16gb ram, every time i install a new Hdd over 4 tb capacity, after 2 days of using, the system discover many zfs errors (154 and more) then suspend pool.

Disk is set always on, bios set on uefi, the Hdd is wd 8tb gold (but no matter because the problem verify with too Seagate enterprise 12 tb)

Other disk wd 500 tb blue - 1TB blue - 4 TB red pro - 1 tb blue are always ok.

I dont know what to do.

The Smart is ok and scrub cant go because the system put the disk in bad condition automatically (suspend it).

Thank you

The Smart set long is too fast 0,1 second with green flag and the errors cake out after coping data like 2tb or something

Post more info about your hardware

How are the drives connected, which type of vdevs/pools are using, which version of truenas are you running etc.

The motherboard has four SATA ports? So how are you connecting the additional drive(s)? A SATA expansion card? An HBA? Model?

You are running the latest firmware for that motherboard?

What is your PSU?

In case you use the onboard SATA, are those drive set to AHCI?

They are quite mixed bag, the drives you have, is each a single stripe?

Ok, but i Connect directly on me now…

check cables? Got enough cooling on the HD?
which one is the boot drive? (just wondering.)
Age?

What kind of ZFS errors?
Can you post the full output of sudo zpool status?

Cable ok, boot is on ssd 120gb…cooling i think ok

The system with that disk connected dont charge, it start with mecanich start in loop. I disconnetted it… on Windows in sure it run with no problems… maybe ill try late today.

How does that work?

SSD 120GB
500 TB Blue
1TB Blue
4TB Red Pro
8TB GOLD

motherboard support only 4 SATA. Am I missing something?

I have a pci express x 16 that support an nvme sata multiplier, but the gold run on sata motherboard…

So 2 Sata drives, 4TB Red Pro and 8TB Gold, right?

Are both running in AHCI? Maybe connect it to a different SATA port? Swap the cable with the one that is working?

You said you have a windows PC? Download SeaTools and check the drive under windows there?

Every Hdd is in ahci i tried to change ports, cable sata and power too. But nothing.

The problem isnt Hdd (Ive tried a 12tb Seagate com moth ago and the Same problem) but something in motherboard maybe…

FM2 socket suggests the system may be older.

Please check your system stability using memtest86 or a similar bootable ISO, to eliminate the potential of a CPU or RAM error.
