Problem with gpu passthrough

Hi so i want to passthrough rtx3060 to vm but when i try to do this nothing is showing up and i cant figure this out. Can some one help me

Full details on your hardware and OS version could help. Check your email or DMs for info on the tutorial by TrueNAS-Bot and take it. It should allow you to post images, etc. Screenshots of you settings could help too.

When you go to ‘Virtualization’, select your VM, there should be a button for ‘Devices’, then you click ‘Add’, change drop to ‘Pcie’, you’ll need to find your GPU & pass through the GPU AND its audio component (two separate entries):

What I had to do once was enable the onboard video (which I had disabled after installing a dedicated-to-transcoding Intel GPU) so that Truenas get a chip. It’s needy like that. If I hit the drop down list before making that change I would only see one GPU, the Intel.

After enabling onboard (on-die) in the bios, then I could give that to Truenas and had 2 options in that list so I could isolate the GPU and hand it to an app. Worked like a treat. It’s not uncommon to set up regular gaming PC’s like this and I’m guessing that’s the situation for this dude too.

when i added this showned up [EFAULT] internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2026-05-03T11:29:04.191805Z qemu-system-x86_64: -accel kvm: warning: Number of SMP cpus requested (16) exceeds the recommended cpus supported by KVM (8) 2026-05-03T11:29:04.191845Z qemu-system-x86_64: -accel kvm: warning: Number of hotpluggable cpus requested (16) exceeds the recommended cpus supported by KVM (8) 2026-05-03T11:29:05.826835Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device {“driver”:“vfio-pci”,“host”:“0000:01:00.0”,“id”:“hostdev0”,“bus”:“pci.0”,“addr”:“0x7”}: vfio 0000:01:00.0: group 1 is not viable Please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver
