Proxmox Backup Server crashes randomly as VM on ElectricEel-24.10.2

I am running ElectricEel-24.10.2 on my server (See specs below for Scale02).

I have installed Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) as a VM (16GB Ram, 4 Virtual CPU, 4 Cores, 4 Threads). My Scale server is showing 177GiB of available memory out of 256GiB. CPU usage is extremely low on the server.

I have a VirtIO drive mapped to a ZVol on the local system with plenty of space.

Randomly, the VM just quits, and when I start it back up, it runs just fine. Sometimes, it will run for a day, sometimes a couple of days, but never longer than that.

When I attempt to ‘download logs’ I get nothing at all. Thinking this was an issue with my Dragonfish to ElectricEel upgrade, I nuked the VM and reinstalled from scratch, same issue remains. It starts and runs just fine with no indication in any log I can find as to why it is crashing or why Truenas might be shutting it down.

This is a backup PBS to my primary PBS, which is fully hardware-based and includes all NVMe ZFS storage. This virtualized PBS pulls my snapshots off my primary PBS server, and then I replicate these snapshots from Scale02 to Scale01, leaving me with three copies of my data.

I can spin up another Proxmox hardware server and use NFS to connect to the ZVol on Scale02, but it would be nice if the VM just worked.

I am looking for help in troubleshooting why the VM keeps crashing. WHen it runs, it runs great, replicates just fine, etc. But I hate having to go in and check everyday if it has failed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
