Resolved - 1 solution to try: There are two replication problems

Hello and thanks in advance.

Setup CE 25.04.0

Main Pool
-Replicated to 2ndPool in same machine
-Replicated to 2nd machine, offsite, 3rdPool

  1. replication in same machine - found this is the setup for the replication task "Error counting eligible snapshots. cannot open ‘2ndPool’: dataset does not exist.
searching was not very fruitful, it seems this may be a bug.

  2. SSH replication to offsite machine and 3rdPool. - found this is the setup for the SSH replication task

“2 of 34 existing snapshots of dataset pool would be replicated with this task.”

Both messages are not present on both replication tasks.

It seems the data is being sent, I added a folder and file to check and it was present after the snapshot was completed and replication sent.

I imagine this is how I set this up, however I don’t have the trouble shooting skills to unpack this.

Thanks in advance.

Update:

No change.

I deleted the replication tasks, redid them from the start. Same messages.

Will continue to consider this.

Thanks.

Update 2:

I have been toggling options and rebuilding the replication tasks.

  1. replication in same machine - found this is the setup for the replication task "Error counting eligible snapshots. cannot open ‘2ndPool’: dataset does not exist.

I admit I was not taking notes - so one change I made removed the error message. Not much help to other with the same problem. Apologies.

SSH replication to offsite machine and 3rdPool. - found this is the setup for the SSH replication task

“2 of 34 existing snapshots of dataset pool would be replicated with this task.”

Solution: by removing the auto-populated naming schema in “Also Include Naming Schema” this error message resolved.

Will check tomorrow to see if the test folder/file is replicated to both local and remote copies.

Final update.

Files seem to replicate to both the 2nd and 3rd pools.

No entirely sure how the mechanics of this worked, so not entirely a solution.

Something to consider if you are stuck.

Good luck.

If anyone has some insight, this may help the next user.

Thanks.
