I’m facing an issue with NFSv4 on a TrueNAS server and I would like to know if it’s possible to retrieve user UIDs directly from an Active Directory (AD) when mounting an NFS share on a Linux machine.
Currently, when I mount the NFS share, the files created under Linux appear with the “nobody” and “wheel” users, which seems to indicate an issue with UID/GID mapping. I would like to know if there is a configuration to properly map NFS users to Active Directory users, retrieving their UIDs from AD.

How are you storing your UIDs in active directory? RFC2307 extensions?
