I use TrueNAS as a backup with a password enabled ssh rsync task from Synology to a TrueNAS dataset. I also use Tailscale to access both devices externally. How secure is my implementation ? How can I further harden it ? My main worry is the SSH backup task over port 22 …

A feature request would be if the the GUI provided options for max attempts etc.

I try to modify or set an rsync backup task in synology but I do not see an option of authentication with ssh_keys…
