i’m a n00b to TrueNas, i should have known better.
i updated Truenas to TrueNAS SCALE Fangtooth 25.04 from v24.
Now computers cannot access SMB shares.
I click on drive shares and PC just spins and spins.
Too late to buy a support contract to get it running today.
Any assist I can get. Heck, I’ll pay someone if they know how to fix this. i am in a real pickle.
Active Directory states Status:Faulted.
SMB Audit Logs have errors with this notice at bottom: Type: NTSTATUS
Value Raw: 3221225566
Value Parsed: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
Could it be activedirectory setup in Truenas? not sure how to fix this
If you updated from within TrueNAS you should be able to revert back to the old boot environment. That should get you back in working order the quickest running 24.something.
System → Boot → Click and Activate the previous version → Reboot
Dumb ass me, thought that if the server was up all was good. i was doing mass updates. and I removed the old boot environment thinking I was good. lesson learned.
i found that i removing from AD and adding back did the trick. Credit to [KRB5KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_FAILED] Errors on AD quite often - #12 by GlendonKuhns
now, i hope it doesn’t come back as mentioned in this same article.
That’s unfortunate.
I can’t help with an AD setup as I know nothing of how that works.
BTW, thank you @neofusion I wish i hadn’t cleaned up things or that would have did the trick.
At least you (and anyone reading this) now know better than to remove the previous boot environments prematurely.
They don’t take up a lot of space. I recommend keeping few around at any time, at the very least the last tested and known good one.
