Strange pattern in power consumption

Hi everybody!

I’m here with a new question: my TrueNAS machine has a weird power consumption pattern: every 5 minutes, the consumption goes up by around 7 watts (68 to 75), during 2 minutes.

I have absolutely no idea why this is, and where to start the investigation (it’s not really an issue, but I would like to understand what’s happening).

Here are the machine specs:

  • Intel Core i3-14100
  • ASRock B760 Pro RS/D4 ATX
  • Crucial Pro 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200
  • 2 Crucial BX500 240 GB SSD (mirrored for Boot)
  • 4 Seagate IronWolf NAS 8 TB HDD (RAIDZ2)
  • 2 WD Red 4 TB HDD (mirrored)
  • 2 M2 NVME SSD (for system dataset and apps)
  • Corsair RM750x power supply
  • HBA 9500-8i for the 6 HDDs (the SSD are directly connected to the MB)

I’d appreciate any pointers (or obvious explanation if there is one  )

Thank you all!

Ok, found the issue. It’s actually the Home Assistant TrueNAS integration that was the culprit. I disabled it, and lo and behold, the variations disappeared!
