I set in all places I could find my NAS’ hostname to something non-generic, incl. netbios name, etc.
Yet, when I set up the tailscale app, which by default derives the hostname from the OS hostname, I end up with “trunas-scale”.
Now, obviously, I can override this in tailscale, but I’d rather exorcise that host name. If I name my machine to a specific name, then I want that to permeate everything, and not have in some nook or cranny a leftover generic name.
So I wonder where tailscale retrieves that name from, and how I can fix this that no matter who or what inquires, the proper host name is returned.
Or is this an issue with the App container, which defines a generic hostname within the container?
