I need to recover the data on it and transfer to the NAS somehow.
Plug it into a computer that can read NTFS and transfer it over the network.
I have it plugged into my desktop currently,
source write-protected, mounted read-only.
files in it are the TrueNAS system files now:
efi.img, boot, System, live, EFI, etc…
So what exactly did you do? Because you’ve really given zero information here. Specifically, what did you do to “try to mount external NTFS drive”? Because what you’re describing sounds like you imaged the TrueNAS installer to that drive.
here’s the command history, prior to mounting the drive just had a few folders of jellyfin and immich files
mkdir Passport
sudo mount /dev/sde1 /media/Passport
photorec can find the files, so is it a matter of fixing the partition table?
okay I hopefully restored it just need to reboot
alright it worked!
