TrueNAS SCALE 24.10.1 is Now Available!

We are pleased to release TrueNAS SCALE 24.10.1!

This is a maintenance release and includes refinement and fixes for issues discovered after the 24.10.0 and 24.10.0.X releases.

Notable Changes in 24.10.1:

  • Prevent incorrect translation of LDAP Base DN to kerberos realm (NAS-132192).
  • Increase the maximum permitted Samba (SMB) ACL size from 64 to 1024 entries (NAS-132344).
  • Prevent applications service failing after upgrade if an app requires an Nvidia GPU (NAS-132070 and NAS-132131).
  • Cache installed Nvidia kernel modules on upgrades within the same release train (i.e. 24.10.0, 24.10.1, etc.) so they do not need to be reinstalled and compiled (NAS-132359).
  • Allow limited administrative users to view and download logs of certain jobs, even if they did not initiate the job (NAS-132031).
  • Ensure installed apps are shown correctly after system reset (NAS-131913).
  • Prevent KeyError: 'pool_name' resulting from pool name collision in zpool.status (NAS-132742).
  • Allow unsetting/changing the apps pool in cases where the ix-apps dataset no longer exists (NAS-132065).
  • Fix memory context for IPC read allocations to prevent potential Use After Free (UAF) corruption (NAS-132685).
  • Make sure helm secret is safely serialized when listing App backups to migrate (NAS-132077).

See the 24.10.1 Release Notes for more details.

Im unable to use my nvidia GPU with plex now. The GPU is enabled in plex container settings and “nvidia-smi” is looking good but in plex there is no GPU to select anymore…

I suggest filing a bug ticket with a debug to get this investigated.

We’ll need to see the App config. If nvidia-smi is working, then the driver appears to be in good shape. Need to see why the App doesn’t map it in.

No need to, i switched to previous boot environment ElectricEel-24.10.0.2 and my GPU is back again. Its definitive a bug i latest TN EE.

Anybody else beside me has broken CPU widgets after upgrading?

This is what my system on an Ugreen NAS looks like:

And this is what my old Microserver G8 looks like:

another painless update over here :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The point of a bug report is that you supply them with details about your specific setup, so that they can find and fix the problem.

Force reload the dashboard page and see if it helps.

Reloading doesn’t help. I’ve even emptied my complete browser cache.

Hello,

The same, my i3 now show only 4 cores

I suppose you could try a different browser as well, after that it sounds like bug report time unfortunately.

I got the same problem, only 4 threads displayed in CPU widget. So this is kind of “confirmed”.

Could someone raise a bug ticket on this with debug, we have tried reproducing and not able to reproduce this.

Yeah just realized that my 3700x also displays cores instead of thread, but it’s been a hot minute since i logged into the webui and i can’t remember if it was cores or threads that were displayed on 24.10.0

Done.

It was threads.

Also interesting is that so far all processors that have symmetrical processors when it comes to hyperthreading (like e.g. 4 cores and 8 threads) still show bars for the number of cores while the i5-1235U (10 cores and 12 threads) doesn’t show anything at all.

Has somebody else here a processor with a similar config of cores and threads? And if yes what does his CPU widget show?

There has been a change in 24.10.1 to show physical cores on this widget rather than threads Jira

@ABain On a dual processor system, should it show both processors and all cores?

An NFS-related performance issue was also fixed for 24.10.1 details here:
