This answers my question as well, thanks for the update.
One thing I liked about the TrueCharts apps I was using was the ability to enable a Gluetun VPN and killswitch from within the App config itself. I can in theory do this using my firewall and routing traffic from those containers to a separate VPN, but I’m curious if there’s another clean way to do with the iX apps? (I know, I should probably move this to a separate thread…)
I got insulted with meme and gif because I’m using nginx proxy manager instead of Traefik and my reason is that I don’t want to use Cloudflare for privacy concerns… So I’m pissed that I spend so much time to do my setup with some of their apps (hopefully Nextcloud and Wordpress are the TrusNAS ones!), even spedn time twice to fix their mess after the updates that broke everything (thus their discord support was helpful to solve it), but now I need to migrate some app to the TrueNAS Community version, if I can make it work as I want…) and other to docker.
Why we need this Jailmaker and not the native “custom app” that works as well with docker? (when I manage to configure properly). Maybe your answer will explain why I have such a hard time making docker app work with the custom app GUI.
I was using traefik on Truecharts and it worked… but there were a few issues, like timeouts…
Now that charts is dead Im on docker with NPM and NPM is doing a good job better than Truecharts Traefik, especially since I have control over timeouts.
This isn’t a reason to not have used TC’s Traefik; many other DNS providers were supported. And NPM is a hot mess when it comes to dealing with Let’s Encrypt.
The current Apps system uses kubernetes k3s in the Background, not native docker. You can just run any docker Image, but it’s kubernetes in the Background. EE will switch to native docker
I’m on TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2. I’ve been getting this message for months. How do I disable this and stop TrueNas from checking for something that isnt’ there?
Don’t mean to be stupid, but I’m a bit new with TrueNAS. Where do I find the TrueCharts catalog? How do I remove it? I’ve looked all over and I’m not finding it.
Thanks
You installed it, right? Because it’s not there by default; the only way you’re encountering that error is because you took affirmative steps to add that app catalog.
I don’t have a copy of 23.10 handy. In 24.04, you’d go to Apps → Discover → Manage Catalogs. I expect the path in 23.10 is similar.
You may have the catalog itself installed though. Check under Apps → Discover → Manage Catalogs as suggested, and if you have the TrueCharts catalog, use the drop-down menu to remove it.
Sorry for not replying sooner. Someone suggested upgrading my TrueNAS and that would resolve this issue. I finally was able to upgrade to Dragonfish-24.04.2.2, however, the catalog issue is still persistent.
So, I’ve done as previously suggested. I’ve set the pool, I’ve looked in the Apps, Discover, Manage Catalogs. I see what I believe to be the catalog, but I can’t delete it. I only see three buttons, “Summary”, “Refresh” and “Edit”. Neither of which will allow me to delete the catalog.
