TrueNas Scale - Hiding SMB shares, cannot get ABSU to work

Hi

Previously (with core and scale) I was able to hide SMB shares, where the user had no permissions. It was a bit hacky involving finding the group SID and adding as additional parameters in the share definition.

As of 25.10.1 Looks like this approach has gone, no additional flags or parameters possible in the GUI. What I am trying to do should be supported by Access Based Share Enumeration, and I have read every thread I can find on this - but I cannot get this to work.

Testing is pretty simple - I have a share, and i have set the Share ACLs to a specific group, I have the data set ACLs set to the same group as well. I have the flag set in the share definition for ABSU, and the purpose is set as Default Share.

However, when I remove a test user from the group, the share is still visible in Windows, although navigating into teh share produces an access denied message as expected.

I have restarted SMB service, but had no luck so far.

Does this work, has anyone managed to hide shares based on access to that share in the latest release?

Thanks
