hi, i want to install TrueNas Scale on a old pc, but he only have one ssd (500Go), how can i tell to truenas to install on only 16go of the 500go ans the rest is for storage ?
Boot disk should be used for boot environment and nothing else.
You should instead grab a small cheap SSD ↔ SATA-USB connector, and install the OS there. Not the best option but a good compromise if you backup often your config file.
Better solution, if you have a non-used PCI-EX slot, small cheap NVME (like the 16gb Optane/pseudo Optane) with a PCIE-EX-NVME adapter… but check first if you “old” pc can boot from nvme

TrueNAS doesn’t support this, never has supported this, and in all likelihood never will support this. You’ll need to either use a different NAS OS, or more suitable hardware.
