I’m not sure what the best way to do this is. Or if its possible with TrueNAS Scale. Trying to find the best way bring up VMs at different sites when one site fails.
We currently have 1 site where a few different sites access VMs. We are using Vcenter and ESXi Clusters. So currently if a host goes down at site 1 the vms will move to another host at site 1. What is the best way to bring up a cluster or same cluster at site 2 for backup / failover. We have a VCenter at site 2 but the TrueNAS iSCSI are at Site1. We can put another TrueNas Scale at another site. What is the best way to have the same data at Site 2 so the VMs can automatically move if internet connection is lost at site 1?
I don’t think TrueNAS does this.
You can repeatedly replicate but that will never be up to date, and would require manual intervention

That sounds like a question that VMware could answer for you. I use ESXi for personal use, my knowledge is very limited.
It would be interesting to know the answer.
