Understanding Permissions and App Structure

Hello everyone, I am new to TrueNAS. I have just installed and set up the OS and I am trying to wrap my head around understanding the way the user accounts, owners, groups, admin users, and permissions function.

My current understanding from reading the documentation is that the root account is not used, and the Admin account it used for access to the webUI.

I guess my question is, how is all of this structured? I am completely new to this and I am not understanding the documentation fully. I think if i could undersstand the big picture that would help.

Just try searching the web for Linux primer on that. Debian is what TrueNAS Scale is based on.

Ah ok, I knew it was based on Debian and used UNIX permissions but the other permissions and the way the dataset/pool permissions are structured are what confuses me.
