Using different pools for different apps, specifically Nextcloud

Hello. I just setup Truenas scale ElectricEel-24.10.2.2. I have a 1tb ssd that I setup for my apps and have since installed nginx, n8n, tailscale, and nextcloud. Most of this has been with the help of chatgpt, which overall as been ok. I have my main storage with 7tb and have had the hardest time getting nextcloud to utilize it. It seems that everything works great when using the default ix drive, but obviously I don’t want nextcloud using my small 1tb apps drive for storage. What just hit me though, is it possible to change the apps pool to my specific dataset for storage then install next cloud using the default ix settings? Or will this cause my existing apps to not work. Thanks.

To clarify on getting nextcloud to use the larger storage drive, I am continually running to permission issues.

Yes - well that is what happens when you ask an idiot AI (which actually has literally zero intelligence) to tell you what to do.

(AIs digest large quantities of information, some of which is written by experts and factually correct, but a lot of it written by amateurs who got it partially or completely wrong - and without any genuine intelligence, they find it difficult to weigh up the quality of what they ingest, and so don’t discriminate between fact and falsehood. When popular falsehoods outweigh rarer facts, they make the wrong choice. In addition they make deductions by doing loose matching of phrases, such matching not necessarily being correct, and this can lead to false conclusions which are technically known as hallucinations - in other words AIs literally make stuff up. That is not to say that AIs can’t have their uses, but if you choose to believe what they say without verifying it with a good quality, definitive source, then it is the blind leading the blind.)

It certainly got me farther than I would have watching youtube and searching Google. I was able to get n8n setup and working along with nginx and getting proxies and https working. For the nitty gritty though, yes it for sure fell apart.

UPDATE: I answered my own question by testing it and quickly found that, that was not going to work. So can someone please point me in the right direction as to setting up permissions on a dataset so Nextcloud can use it for storage. In this case where I have two separate pools. One to hold the actual apps and one large pool for storage. Thanks
