Hi all,
I’m trying to set up my first TrueNAS system to host a Nextcloud server for home/family use (mainly documents and pictures).
My idea is to have two pools: one SSD pool for apps (eg 2 x 256GB mirrored), and one HDD pool for user data. So I built a test system from an old PC with this setup. I installed SCALE, and then Nextcloud (official TrueNAS version) according to the official docs. This all worked without problems, and Nextcloud ran fine.
The docs however indicate to create the Nextcloud userdata dataset in the same pool as the app data and database datasets. However, I want the userdata to live on the large HDD pool, since it will need quite a bit more space than the SSDs provide. But when I configure Nextcloud to use a dataset on the HDD pool for userdata, the app remains stuck on Deploy.
To illustrate, this works:
But this doesn’t:
I’ve spent a lot of time searching on various forums, and have seen similar questions like this one marked ‘solved’, but no concrete step-by-step solutions.
My setup:
TrueNAS SCALE version Dragonfish-24.04.2
Nextcloud App version 29.0.6
Charts version 2.0.15
Any help is greatly appreciated!
