VDEVs best practices question

Hello everyone
I have a pool with 2 mirrored disks.
Here is my configuration:

  • Data VDEVs 1 x MIRROR | 2 wide | 3.64 TiB
  • Metadata VDEVs VDEVs not assigned
  • Log VDEVs VDEVs not assigned
  • VDEVs cache VDEVs not assigned
  • Spare VDEVs VDEVs not assigned
  • Dedup VDEVs VDEVs not assigned

When I created the pool I only assigned the “Data VDEVs” the others are optional.
Should I have assigned other VDEVs and why?

The other vdev types are only used IF you need them.
Most people have no use for any of them

If you don’t know them you likely don’t need them, they are used in very specific cases.
