Why do I have to fix Incus every reboot?

Continuing the discussion from Local DNS on Fangtooth:

So here’s the thing: every single time I restart my TrueNAS system, I end up digging up the same article just to get a preinstalled app (native to Fangtooth) working again. It feels ridiculous that I have to manually patch this over and over.

Why isn’t there an automatic way to handle this yet? Or at least a permanent fix?
Also—can someone explain why Incus even needs port 53 in the first place? From what I understand, it’s running its own DNS service for the app containers, but that just creates conflicts with apps like Pi-hole or AdGuard. Is this actually necessary, or just a design quirk?

Is this issue on the roadmap to be fixed, or are we stuck babysitting Incus forever?

Incus won’t get any fixes since it will be removed in a future version on favor of libvirt as management plane for lxcs

Edit: and for me it survives reboots
