25.10 Goldeye Certificate Authority functionality

TrueNAS 25.10 removes the Certificate Authority (CA) functionality that allowed TrueNAS to create and sign certificates.

I’m trying to figure out if this is a “today” problem, or a problem to navigate one year from now.

I have the self-signed CA and a valid cert derived from that already on my 25.04.2.4 system. Will either of them disappear when I upgrade to Goldeye? Or will I be able to use the existing cert for my local home lab until it expires?

Yes, I will work on automating ACME certs (again). I’m just trying to understand if it’s a blocking task.

Hey im new to Cert authoritys for my homelab and im mostly useing chatgbt to help me learn. But it keeps trying to get me to make a CA in truenas even when i tell it the button is not there.

How does true nas want us to do internal certs? Or i should say how to they let us do it?
