Added NVidia card and cant passthough

Running with intel i7 with integrated graphics bios set to use cpu for graphics and it still cant unmount the NVidia card please help.
Its also removing dev/dri when the card is installed.
NVidia card is GeForce GT 730 yes its old i know.

You might not be able to with that card, Nvidia locked them down due to there enterpise cards supporting passthough. Back some years I couldn’t under ESXi and KVM with a Nvidia consumer card. I had luck with AMD, but ran into power state issues, requiring a reboot.

I’m not saying you cannot, other people will have more recent experiance but you might need to do some kind of masquerading or kernel tweaks. Some of this is the reason why I use a Quadro M2000, but I’m hoping things have moved on, I’ve had it for a long time.

Could of things to confirm.

  • Make sure VTd is enabled within the BIOS
  • Make sure its isolated within advanced settings
  • Make sure you passthough both the card and audio for the card if it has any

Edit: I am assuming you mean Passthough to a virtual machine?

  1. Did you also set iGPU Multi-Monitor to Enabled in your BIOS?
  2. Do you have a monitor or HDMI/DP dummy dongle plugged into your motherboard display outputs?
