Adding multiple cores to VM on i7 860

I’m running TrueNAS SCALE on an old i7 860 CPU.
When I try to assign more than one virtual CPU, core or thread, I get an error: vm_update.vcpus: Only one Virtual CPU is allowed in this system.

I understand this was an issue with old Intel CPUs on TrueNAS CORE with bhyve hypervisor, but is it still an issue with KVM on TrueNAS SCALE? Or is it some other issue?

Thanks!

Sounds like a bios issue. I seem to remember some settings for virtualization on Intel so that vm’s could break them up.

What is the guest VM? Maybe the issue is somehow related to the i7 860 not being x86-64-v2 compatible.
