I’m attempting to have autofill work for Microsoft Edge. It does work for Google Chrome, but not Edge. I assume that there’s something about the sign-in form for TrueNAS Scale that is incompatible with Edge. My question is whether or not there is a setting in Scale that I can use to enable autofill from Edge. I’ve manually added the username and password for Scale in the Edge password manager, but to no avail.
I’m running Scale as a VM using Proxmox. I’m also using Nginx Proxy Manager as a reverse proxy with a Let’s Encrypt certificate. Nginx is not running in Scale, but on a Debian VM. The TrueNAS Scale Web interface recognizes the Let’s Encrypt certificate in both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and doesn’t show any security warning in either.
I think it is something in Edge Don’t know why but sometimes it won’t ask though I know the user/password is there. Edit: Not just in Truenas
For more secure use I do the following.
I’m on Fedora and use Edge. Yes, it works and there is a Linux version. I also use the password manager KeePassXC (also compatible with my windows dual boot) and it has a plugin that works well for Edge and will fill in the user/pass for Truenas login.
Thanks for the quick response. My Bitwarden password manager will also handle the fill-in for Edge, but I have a complicated password and would prefer not to open it just to get to internal servers. I’m currently using Google Chrome for my servers and Edge for general browsing, but I’d prefer just to use one browser. So there is a work-around and this is not a major issue. I was just hoping that there’s an easy, maybe non-intuitive, setting that would solve the issue.
