My netdata button tells me it’s got a temporary password for me
and I can look at the graphs etc. If I save that URL as a favourite, I can’t later log into those stats because the random password is ephemeral and on one occasion it’s :&.Z}g*M,y|YGRYB and another it’s +)6lE=sj\0NhF]rQ and eventually I get:
I looked at this thread but that’s not the solution I am seeking; I had already implemented the longer timeout suggested.
I’d like to be able to revisit the netdata page arbitrarily without needing to log into the webUI first. The URL suggested in that TN popup points to https://truenas.local/netdata/ but clicking on it takes me to the TN dashboard, not the netdata page.
It looks like I was mistaken - if I use one of the temporary passwords which gets generated, I can use that as a login which is not ephemeral. I can check on my netdata stats arbitrarily without logging in to TN itself.
No. I spoke too soon. Two days later and the assigned password no longer works. I’d have to make a note of the new random string in order to log on to the Netdata page.
I wonder if it even needs to be pw protected, or if it is a requirement, perhaps it could be assigned a single permanent pw or one which can be user-generated/edited?
No, but I raised the matter as a feature request though, which might mean that Electric Eel has fixed it (or could fix it in the future). I am yet to upgrade to EE, so I live in hope!
I found the netdata config and allowed also access to all IP on the standard 19999. It was only localhost allowed on 6999. Also allowed web interface. It was disabled.
Truenas doesn’t use this web interface but somehow their own which is displayed via the dashboard and does the auth request.
I seem to able to connect to it with home assistant.
