I think my NAS should be powerful enough to run Luminar Neo correctly in a native windows setup.
I have a Ryzen 5 pro 4650G (includes a Radeon GPU) and 64 Gb of DDR4 RAM.
Is it possible to setup a windows VM with Luminar to edit my pictures?
If so can I do that through a web broweser?

To do that kind of work, the windows VM needs a passed through GPU. If you only have one GPU im your system truenas wont let you pass the only GPU through. So you meed 2. One for Truenas (can be a crappy one) and a proper one for the VM.
Then using Parsec you can connect to said VM and work remotely. Parsec is a lot better than windows remote desktop because of the low latency.
That was also my understanding , the need for 2 GPU.
I could probably buy a cheap one for truenas, but how should I set truenas to use the cheap one and passtrough the one embedded in the CPU to the VM?
also is it realistic to think that I would do image editing through an app like parsec? positive point is that the files would be on the same machine so no netwok latency between the files and the app that edits them…
You can crank up Parsec to 4K resolution and 4:4:4 color, so IMO it is realistic.
Thanks. It seems only the paid plans allow that. Any alternative? I don’t mind paying once and for all a lifetime license, but paying a monthly fee is not something I like very much…
