Can you use the Joplin app as a sync server, and other Joplin questions

After looking at the TrueNAS Joplin app, it looks like it starts the official Joplin server that’s used to sync notes between apps on different devices. Is it possible to use the TrueNAS app to sync with a Joplin app installed on a phone or laptop?

Also, where are the notes in Joplin stored? In the dataset used for apps? Is there a way to have the notes stored in a different dataset/pool? I have two pools. One has a single NVME drive and is where I have my installed apps. The other pool is where I have my storage drives as a RAIDZ1. I’d really like to have my notes live on the storage pool and not the apps pool.

That’s its purpose.

Wherever you tell it to store them when you install the app. More precisely, in a Postgres database in that location.

Hmmm…I thought the purpose of the app was to run Joplin on the NAS and use it through a web interface.

Sorry for the obvious question. I was pretty tired when I posted and didn’t even think to just try installing the app.

There is a Joplin Web App, but this isn’t it.
