afaik Vaultwarden not work without https, for me just stuck on endless loading… is that the same for you or another sympthome?
hmmm. possible but how can I initiate https in truenas to access via https?
Before you need a domain (there are some free option like duckdns), then you can manage reverse proxy and certificates with Nginx proxy manager. There are a lot of option, and a lot of guide about on YouTube, i suggest you to give a look tmat that first
Thx, I’ll care about myself
Yes, Vaultwarden requires HTTPS (this is because most browsers block the use of Web Crypto APIs in insecure contexts (source)).
It’s recommended to use a reverse proxy (like nginx proxy manager) to handle this.
If you are not planning on accessing this externally and have some local DNS configuration (like pihole) - there’s nothing stopping you creating a local CA and signing your own certificates for whatever.lan
, then pointing DNS for whatever.lan
in pihole to your nginx proxy manager instance.
I use WG-VPN with own WG-Server and have DynDNS
